The core mechanics that distinguish this game from similar games do a nice job of making the game feel more alive/dynamic, so I'm definitely optimistic. I do like the game and I expect I will recommend it to virtually everyone in the future. This game most reminds me of Rise of Industry, but Voxel Tycoon seems like it wants to focus on the transport aspect more than Rise of Industry. Cartel Tycoon is a story-driven business sim inspired by the ‘80s narco trade. As time progresses you can research factories which will let you create manufactured goods for new stores that spawn, or in nearby regions with purchasable access. You harvest the resources by building the mining buildings, then create a transport network to bring goods to the towns. You're presented with towns with passengers and stores that sell goods along with raw resource harvest nodes outside of the towns. It's primarily a transport tycoon game with added ability to build factories. I'm playing it right now and according to Steam I've played for 13 hours, no it's not like Factorio.
